Stairs Bench
From Czech republic, Eduard Herrmann and Matěj Coufal realised this bench called "stairs bench".
For us the staircase is a symbol of connection. It allows us to connect two things, the outside to the inside, the floor to the floor, one person to another. Also, the staircase represents the path we take towards a better future. Its purpose in architecture is to connect to the building, allow us to enter it and help us move in it. Even if we do not give it enough attention, it's very often the first thing we come across at the entrance. This element is also something that remains the same everywhere in the world, regardless of the difference in architecture. We find it in the buildings as well as in the opulent villas, the same function and structure always replicated. We can be on the other side of the globe and undoubtedly always know how to use it. He goes through history with us without being noticed.Over time we naturally developed another function of the staircase. Sometimes these non-utilitarian places become social places of connection between people. Places where people sit down to chat with friends, eat a snack or simply relax a bit. Moments like that merge people of different professions, races, nationalities and religions.
